CGI proxy
A proxy is a program or device that performs a task access to
the Internet rather than another computer. A proxy is an intermediate
point between a computer with Internet connection and the server being
accessed. When we surf through a proxy, we really are not getting
direct access to the server, but we made a request on the proxy and it
is he who is connected to the server you want to access and returns the
result of the application.
When we connect with a proxy, we access the server actually receives
the application proxy, instead of receiving it directly from your
computer. There may be systems that intercept proxy range of Internet
services. Most often the proxy site, which serves to intercept the
connections to the website and can be useful for increasing the safety,
speed of navigation or anonymity.
The web proxy is a device that tends to be closer to our computer that
the server they are accessing. This is usually what is called a cache,
with a copy of web pages that are visiting. So if multiple people
accessing the Internet through the same proxy access to the first
website, the proxy accesses the first time physically to the
destination server, requesting the page and caches as well as sending
the user who has requested . Successive accesses to the same
information by different users, the proxy only checks if the requested
page is cached and has not been modified since the last request. In
this case, rather than requesting the page again the server sends the
user to the copy that is in the cache. This improves performance and
speed of your Internet connection for computers that are behind the
proxy
